Leanne Hawes

Leanne Hawes is the Vice-President Co-op and External Relations for Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL).
As Vice-President, she is responsible for the management of FCL’s relations with the 160 member Co-operatives in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) and external stakeholders.
Leanne first began her Co-operative Retailing System career with Lloydminster Co-op as the Marketing Development Manager in 2009, she then became the Vice-President Operations in 2012 before becoming the Chief Executive Officer in 2018, and further joined FCL in her current role in 2021. Leanne is a proven strategic leader who can translate vision into business growth and financial results. She is someone who brings a professional approach to problem-solving and is a solid public representative of Co-op. She is community-minded and focuses on performance through collaboration, believing we are stronger together.
Leanne completed her Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Fredericton. She has received education from Athabasca University and holds a Diploma in Business Management (with Honours) from Lakeland College. She was also honored to be the recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award from Lakeland College.
Leanne carries a passion for giving back to the communities we live, work, and play. This has included volunteer board positions for numerous culture, recreation, and social service groups such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Lloydminster Ukrainian Cultural Association, Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services and has currently joined the Co-operatives First Board as a director.
