Matthew Heide of Boissevain, MB, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2024. He is one of the directors elected by District 5 which is comprised of 29 member co-ops in Manitoba. Matthew has primary responsibility for 10 member co-ops.

As an FCL Director, Matthew is a member of the Board’s Audit and Sustainability Committees and is a representative to The Co-operators for Manitoba.

Matthew was a member of the Boundary Co-op Board of Directors for 19 years and served as the Board’s Chair for 15 years. Matthew has completed his level 3 of the Director Development Program offered by FCL.

Matthew graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Agriculture, with a livestock major. While working and growing up on a cattle farm in southwest Manitoba, Matthew also worked as a crop research technician across the prairies for nine years.

Currently, Matthew and his wife Heather reside west of Boissevain, MB. Matthew and Heather enjoy spending time with their two grown children. They enjoy camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
